Our Story
The WTC was born out of the desire to bring demanding plays to our town, and the hope that the residents here would be interested in them. In 2015 four theatre buffs met to read through Albee’s Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The work inspired us so, that we decided to put it on its feet, and after several months of working diligently to analyze, understand, and become the characters we invited our first director to help us complete the project. We developed a truly collaborative style of interaction resulting in a profound, life changing experience for the cast and audience, and a show none of us will ever forget.
In the following years, we have stayed true to our collective’s collaborative process, taking turns, directing, producing and performing in the shows, ever increasing our community participants. In 2018, and performed Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street adding the musical genre to our canon. Now, years later we are still
dedicated to tackling serious dramas and musicals, challenging ourselves and audiences, and exploring ways to expand. If you are interested in joining our group send us a message at Wolfvilltheatrecollective@mail.com.
